RETREATS

“I have not written this much in years.

I have not shared community or connection like this perhaps ever.

Thank you, Sidewalk Poets for this time, this space, for leading with heart.”

ENVISION–Writing in Nature Retreat in Estes Park CO
Fall 2026 Retreat: September 11th - 13th 2026

Nurture your creativity and enjoy nourishing self-care, reflection and imagination through creative writing, journaling, art-making, meditation and movement at Sidewalk Poets’ Envision–Writing in Nature Retreat in Estes Park, Colorado, September 11th-13th, 2026!

Join us Friday evening September 11th to Sunday late morning September 13th. The retreat is held at a beautiful mountain chalet overlooking the mountains and town of charming Estes Park. It includes five sumptuous meals (with evening wine or NA drinks and dessert), loads of writing prompts and guided writing time, as well as some fun group mountain activities (optional).

We’ll have daily writing activities and art-making led by professional authors and teachers (and Sidewalk Poets duo), Abby Templeton Greene and Courtney Morgan. We’ll also have time for meditation and movement activities, as well as free time to yourself to relax and explore the area.

We’ll have time for reflection and contemplation, as well as dreaming new writing projects and new futures! We’ve been living through strange and difficult times, so we can also use this retreat time to consider questions like: How can we use creativity to get us through hard times? What new solutions, communities and worlds do I want to help dream up, create and build? How can we use collaboration and community to deepen our own creativity and envision new possibilities for the world we want to live in?

This retreat is open to writers of all levels and inclinations (and yes, those of us who may not consider ourselves writers at all). There is lots of time and space for play and experimentation, and no right way to write!

Retreat includes daily writing activities; art-making activities and supplies; plus meditation and movement activity options.

Includes food: five meals (Friday dinner, Saturday 3 meals, Sunday breakfast), plus wine/NA drinks and dessert.

 Cost:

Private room with king bed and en suite bathroom: (two rooms available, up to two people per room) $950 includes two night stay, five meals, and two-day writing workshop.
